Hello Boots, let me be the first to answer your questions. Most of the comments that you are getting are from people who own property in HG, have relatives who lives there and definitely are registered voters.
Some of us does not live there now, but was born and raised there. A lot of us worked the land that even you are living on. We worked long and hard hours farming, chopping and picking cotton. You probably do not know anything about that because you were probably not born yet. Most of our fathers were sharecroppers which I am proud to speak of because we did honest and hard work. Yes, some of us moved away and found better paying jobs in high places and earned a very good living. However, a lot of us would love to move back to HG and share some of the wealth there and rebuild. But we need to first see that you all that are still there, including my own relatives, take the initiative to confront the leaders (your city council) about the many things that they are not doing to entice the old pioneers to return upon retirement and help rebuild.
